Inspired by their son Todd’s experience,
Ellen and Simon Vance never imagined how quickly their family-run charity would
grow. Bandanas For The Brave now has a team of dedicated volunteers and works
with over 25 hospitals across the UK and Ireland distributing a FREE bandana to
children and young people with cancer.
Three-years on and they are delighted to
share top news that Northern Ireland’s
next top model, Sophia Mitchell, is the charity’s new Young Ambassador! Sophia
is a model with Model’s 1 London, an Instagram and You Tube Star and has
recently launched her own fashion range.
Sophia was invited to host a Meet &
Greet at Belfast Fashion Week’s Little Women event on 22 October in BFW
Headquarters in the city centre. Sophia gave advice on staying positive, how to
deal with bullying and a talk on self-confidence as part of her Meet and Greet.
Sophia explains, “I saw how difficult it was when my cousin Todd lost his hair following chemotherapy to treat his brain tumour, and then the difference it made to him when my Aunty Ellen found the perfect bandana for him. Bandanas For The Brave is a local charity and all money raised is used to purchase bandanas and support children and young people with cancer. I am delighted to be involved with this charity and hope that I can help to raise the profile of Bandanas For The Brave and also awareness of childhood cancer too”.
Ellen, founder of Bandanas For The Brave
and Sophia’s Aunt says, “We are so excited to have Sophia as our Young
Ambassador and we are certain that she will help to raise the profile of our
charity.”
